The illusion of a perfect East German state exists solely for one woman's benefit, the deception a charming display of just how far a son will go out of love for his mother.

One of my favorite movies! I am a huge fan of Daniel Bruehl anyway and I basically like any of his movies but imho this one is one of the best ones he has ever acted in! The story is very touching and also funny. My mom loves the movie(she grew up in the DDR) and so do I!

I can't praise this film highly enough. A stunning portrayal of one familys emotional experince of the Berlin wall falling. It's an easy comparison to make but think along the lines of Amelie and you're part of the way there. Do not miss out on this!
