In an alternate timeline the original Godzilla is never defeated and repeatedly reemerges to feed on Japan's energy sources. A new inter-dimensional weapon called the Dimension Tide is created with the intent of eliminating Godzilla. However, the new weapon might also serve as a gateway to something far more sinister.

Its' special effects are incredibly astonishing but the plot, characterization, and writing of the film are so abstract and non-attracting that the film doesn't even connect to its' title all the way.

It's already assumed that these movies are campy and outrageously cheesy. But if you are a G-fan, this one has a lot of action and typical destruction. The effects gradually seem to be getting better over the years.

This movie is one uneven mess. It gets off to a great start, but then the real plot kicks in. Japan decides that the only way to destroy Godzilla is to fire a miniature black hole at Godzilla from an orbiting satellite! And they miss! If that wasn't enough, the first test of the thing releases a horde of monster dragonflies from another dimension. And then the dragonfly's queen, Megaguiras, shows up and after a movie full of good effects we are suddenly given a stiff puppet on obvious wires. If that wasn't bad enough, a movie that has been serious almost the whole time suddenly becomes a Three Stooges skit. I really want to know what the director was thinking. It has some fun moments, but it's probably the worst movie in the Millennium series.

This film lacked in just about everything from likable characters and believable plot to good old fashioned Godzilla smashing. The only thing left was laughability.

My least favorite film in the Millennium series. In one shot when Megaguirus is flying, you can clearly see the string used to make him fly, which turned me off from this movie.
