Robert L. Scott has dreamed his whole life of being a fighter pilot, but when war comes he finds himself flying transport planes over The Hump into China. In China, he persuades General Chennault to let him fly with the famed Flying Tigers, the heroic band of airmen who'd been fighting the Japanese long before Pearl Harbor. Scott gets his chance to fight, ultimately engaging in combat with the deadly Japanese pilot known as Tokyo Joe.

Decent WW2 action/propaganda film. No big stars, but a well told "based on a true story" yarn. Pop the corn, turn out the lights.

[b]Plot Outline:[/b] Story of a war hero, Colonel Robert Scott, is at center of the film. Col. Scott knew no fear as he took to the air. His comrades, others pilots of the squadron, admired him deeply as he set a clear example about how to his country unselfishly. Picture was made towards the end of World War II is a typical war time film. Story does give so me accurate details on the Flying Tigers and total dominance over the nuermically superior Japanese forces. Colonel Scott was a legimate ace during the war and his story is worth watching. Air combats shown in the film must've been amazing to audiences of the time in which the movie was released.

Well acted inspirational tale about a guy who fought and won a discrimination case against age in WWII, but the spiritual and religious aspects lack credibility.

A very good movie although it doesn't exactly follow the book but still worth watching. There's aren't any major stars except maybe Raymond Massey who was well known for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in "Abe Lincoln in Illinois." But this is definately a good one.
