A grandious Anti-War Movie that is settled while the Vietnam-War it shows realistic the Senseless of this War and is brilliant directed, written and acted with great Battles

Before the wonderful TV series "Tour Of Duty" and movies such as "Full Metal Jacket" and "Platoon" that dealt with the Vietnam War, there was "Go Tell the Spartans". I thought this movie was really good. It gave important insights into the very early stages of American involvement in the conflict. Burt Lancaster is simply fantastic in the lead role. This is a quality and very believable war movie that deserves to be better known.

Seek this one out. My feeling is that it is the best film about the Vietnam War ever made, though I am sure I am in the minority with that opinion.

Burt Lancaster's intense performance is a big plus for this generally interesting perspective on the early stages of the Vietnam War. It did not always hold my interest, but for the most part it did.

Decent Vietnam film but somewhat diifferent from most others. this ones actually takes place before the American invasion, and the americans are only there `officially` as observers and advisors. but they soon figure out they have to fight to stay alive.
