Lorelei Lee is a beautiful showgirl engaged to be married to the wealthy Gus Esmond, much to the disapproval of Gus' rich father, Esmond Sr., who thinks that Lorelei is just after his money. When Lorelei goes on a cruise accompanied only by her best friend, Dorothy Shaw, Esmond Sr. hires Ernie Malone, a private detective, to follow her and report any questionable behavior that would disqualify her from the marriage.

I love this film it's provocative and playful and shows the silver screen star(Monroe) in all her glory. Not a film to be taken ethically seriously, more a parody on the expectations/requirements of a future-husband & what women want. Includes iconic musical numbers such as Diamonds are a girls best friend, bye bye baby...

MARILYN MONROE- my favorite actress! She is smart, sexy, sassy, and silly. This is my favorite movie of hers. She and Jane Russell light up the screen with their beauty and their ability for comic relief. Marilyn plays sexy/naive like no other. (that's how she began getting "typed casted" in movies". Many people never got to see or know about the real Mariln Monroe.) She shines in this movie, and the famous musical number "Dimonds are a Girl's Best Friend" is performed betifuly along with other great legendary numbers.
