Galaxina (1980)

Galaxina is a lifelike, voluptuous android who is assigned to oversee the operations of an intergalactic Space Police cruiser captained by incompetent Cornelius Butt. When a mission requires the ship's crew to be placed in suspended animation for decades, Galaxina finds herself alone for many years, developing emotions and falling in love with the ship's pilot, Thor.

Spoof my ass....there's some real, deep-ass shit going on in this flick....watch it standing on your head at 2x speed....creepy.

As spoofs go, it wasn't awful. Actually, in some ways, it excelled the prequels (kidding). If they had spent more time developing some of the things going on (or even if they tried it seriously) it would have been interesting. There were some things going on that were interesting. I actually laughed in some places. The big criticism was how underdeveloped it was.

A cheesy but fun sci-fi comedy with surprisingly good special effects work for a low budget film this old. A nod or two to Star Wars and some fun set and costume design. Dorothy Stratten looks great, but there's not a great deal of plot going on.

Kind of like Spaceballs, with many movie parody scenes and some decent humor, but the story goes no where and a lot of it felt too sudden, but the characters are interesting and there are many fun parts.

The crimes against not only Scifi and comedy are on full display here. Truly a blight on the genre of exploitation filmmaking, and that's saying something.
