It may lack the punch of his turn in A Prophet, but Rahim again dominates the screen in an effective wartime thriller.

World War Two resistance drama mixing the German occupation with the struggle for Algerian independence. Inspiring story.

Benjamin Mercer 13 Mar 2012

Free Men never feels like a movie about a developing conscience, due largely to the shallowness of the protagonist as written and, by extension, Rahim's portrayal.

David Fear 13 Mar 2012

Consider the movie a testament to Rahim's screen presence. If nothing else, Free Men proves that the can't-take-your-eyes-off-him charisma the Franco-Algerian actor displayed in Jacques Audiard's "A Prophet" was no fluke.

Adam Woodward 23 May 2012

Passionate if insubstantial period piece. Rahim is the real deal, though.
