New York concierge Doug Ireland wants to go into business for himself and refurbish a hotel on Roosevelt Island, N.Y., but he needs an investor. With a few weeks left before his option on the site runs out, Doug agrees to help wealthy Christian Hanover conceal his affair with salesgirl Andy Hart from his wife. Despite his own attraction to Andy, Doug tries to stay focused on getting Christian to invest $3 million in his project.

Of course, I love MJF. Even at the time I didn't like the scenerio with Anwar's character and sleeping with the boss. It's aged poorly... and gets on my feminist nerve. Kinda falls in the 80's trap and stays there, in that sub-plot. Still love the scene with the replica of his dream home drawn on glass, and placed over the shambles of the old building... really shows how 'dreams' come to life.

Michael J. Fox has charm to burn in his latest screen outing "For Love or Money." A contemporary spin on bygone romantic comedies, the tale of an ambitious young man and the seemingly elusive woman in his life has a definite emotional pull. It falls short on story, however, and no amount of good humor can deter the thin tale from evaporating before the final clinch.
