Amazing movie. I laughed, I cried, I awwwwwed. Check it out. Mostly innocent comedy with a touch of drama.

Excellent, sweet little movie that Rob Reiner made from a book that he had read with his children and liked. It is easy to see why he had difficulty getting it made, no special effects or any of the things typically associated with big box office movies. Instead it is a slowly developing story of how two kids grow in awareness of themselves, each other, and their family over a period of years, told back and forth from each of their views (thus "flipped").

Beautiful, dazzling, and charming. The cinematography was great, it works so well with the conflicting emotions of youths and the advantage of how it tells the story from both points of view especially with the great young cast that do such an amazing job, and that really helps you to connect with the characters and understand them emotionally and both of their maturing perspectives especially callan who delivers an exceptional performance that is true and believable, which makes us root for him and we want to see him succeed. and if you have a heart, this will definitely leave it FLIPPED.

I stumbled on this movie while browsing through Netflix, and only decided to watch because it was a Rob Reiner film. I have to say that this was a wonderful film and definitely filed under “rewatch again in the future”. If you’ve ever been in love for the first time, this movie will bring back a lot of those feels. I also loved the 50’s setting that brought a nice “Wonder Years” vibe to the film. Anyone who gave this movie a 1 star rating is probably a “flat” person and has the same deep down emotional turmoil and prejudice as Bryce’s dad. For everyone else, this movie will not disappoint.

How it is that only 62% of Flixster users liked this movie boggles my mind. By far, "Flipped" is one of this year's best movies. The story is solid, the characters very real, and the situations very easy to relate to. Reiner is in fine form.
