I decided to watch this part after reading positive reviews from critics. I thought I will watch something new and interesting but I was wrong. After watching it, I am starting doubting the critics especially Rotten Tomatoes. For first half, it felt almost same as Scream movie. This movie had a lot of potential but Netflix missed the opportunity. The storyline was alright but the execution was lackluster. The cast did okay as a whole, however the lead characters are unlikable. You fail to connect with them. Not your fault, there performance was bad. The adaptation was done so badly that you can't feel the movie. Movie didn't have proper horror elements. Emotional elements were missing, you may not even feel bad for any character when they die or are in difficult situation. Also, the movie is set in 90s but it doesn't give you 90s vibes. Overall, movie could have been much better if there would have been good direction along with better execution.

Fear Street is like a big soup pot full of everything – there are shades of Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Stephen King’s It, Halloween, Friday the 13th, and more. Watching Fear Street brings back memories of wandering around musty video stores and browsing the HORROR section for the most lurid VHS box art you can find. There was something sacred about that experience, like going to church.

It commits for what it is, a horror comedy very well execute. The cast was great, except the protagonist.

An excellent couch + popcorn flick. Drawing similarities between this series and Stranger Things is inevitable. But as someone who really likes that style, I am all aboard. The characters are unique enough to make me flip-flop between liking and disliking them as people, which is cool. Established tropes get a fresh take. Once again, the best part of these movies is watching all the fragile egos freak out about how two girls kissing is going to murder their children, how this movie has grown legs and arms and goes around torturing white men, ad nauseum.

A weak homage to 90's slashers, Fear Street suffers similar pitfalls as other unremarkable, wannabe Scream clones. The director seems incapable of crafting any atmosphere and relies heavily on non-stop generic 90's hits for nostalgia. It feels like you're watching someone constantly skip through a Spotify playlist. The whole film reeks of a half-assed Hollywood cash grab, like most modern films of late. The characters are bland, the acting is subpar, the kills and jump scares feel hollow and devoid of any real impact.
