On the planet Ygam, the Draags, extremely technologically and spiritually advanced blue humanoids, consider the tiny Oms, human beings descendants of Terra's inhabitants, as ignorant animals. The animation style is rivaled by no other modern animated film, the soundtrack is heavy and beautifully psychedelic, and the imagery and plot are completely surreal. I t is easily my favorite movie to date.

hmm...it says above that there are 1138 reviews of this here (as in THX?) Will I screw it up by making it 1139? At the age of 16 I first saw clips of this on a TV show called "Night Flight"- a show that was too good for TV. It tapped into my personal mythology on so many levels-especially visually. A couple years later when I came across this film in a local video store, I was ecstatic. It's worth it even to get the two versions on DVD just because they have slightly different extras and you can watch it without subtitles on the newer one. My descriptions can't do it justice, so just watch it.

Wow, seriously WOW! I remember watching this as a kid when my dad had the bootleg VHS tape, and just laughing at everything happening. Naked slave girls, people tied up by their hair, giant blue aliens using tiny humans for amusement. Watching it as an adult, I finally took notice at the things I missed when I was younger. This is experimental film (or animation, what have you) at it's best. I've seen it 15 times at least, and am still confused as to what the whole deal is. But the film is an experience, a hit of acid for the senses, something you couldn't possibly imagine on your strangest trip.
