Matt Dillon is Henry Chinaski in actor form. A superbly realised Bukowski novel.

Follows the book beautifully, and Matt Dillon makes a great Henry Chinaski. He plays the role to perfection. The film, like the book, did drag a little bit at times, but that's merely a model of Chinaski's alcoholic, womanizing life, so I suppose it was appropriate.
