Of the Ustinov Poirot movies, this is my favourite. I can't help it. The sea, the sun, the sky... Dames Maggie and Diana, Jane Birkin, Sylvia Miles.. all in tacky and gaudy wonderful clothing; Roddy and the wonderful Englishmen, camping it up and chewing scenery; the gorgeous and taken from us too soon Nicholas Clay.. and all that Cole Porter music! I love, love, love this grand camp fest and, in fact, get it out and watch it on a sort of regular basis! And I say ALL the lines along with it!

I really enjoy this film. Its got a great cast which definitely aids it in being as good as it is. The similarity to the actual book is a little slight, but the truth of the matter is , the film is so entertaining it doesn't really matter. I found Maggie Smith enjoyable in this one.

I love the score of Cole Porter songs. And the cast!!!! James Mason and Sylvia Miles are perfect.
