When married British women Rose Arbuthnot and Lottie Wilkins decide to take a break from their respective spouses, they stay at a castle in Italy for a quiet holiday. Almost magic realism. A loveley, and warm movie if you can get through the initial stuffy misery of London in the beginning. Features a skilled ensebel cast and lovely cinematography of the Italian Riviera.

Truly one of the greatest films of all time, Enchanted April benefits from a beautiful score and four outstanding performances. This movie is the ultimate pick-me-up, as I watch it whenever I feel down. It is an underrated and forgotten masterwork by the director of Four Weddings and a Funeral and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Nominated for 3 Oscars including Best Adapted Screenplay.

The entire movie is a metaphor, to me, of recreating, rebirthing, rejuvenating, refreshing oneself and it does not matter the age or season of one's life.
