This really made me laugh, yes I do have a sick sense of humour. Sex, mugging, slashing, nudity, humour, murder, racism, homosexuality.. This film has everything! Maybe when we fear something, we really do want it? but once you've seen the ending, you know he's a fucking nutter.

The story of one man's journey into the emptiness of his own soul. If anything can go wrong, it will - and at the worst possible time, and that's mainly how Edmond's night is about to happen. A family man, whose girl just dumped him, and decides that he is kinda old and that his life is just passing by, so what the hell, why not go out there and get a taste of it, the problem is that he didn't think he was going to be, robbed by a whore, mugged by a pimp, killing a girl(Julia Stiles) that he's just fucked, and then getting arrested for going to church, eventually leading to prison. A pretty dark night for just an ordinaty guy soon to be convict and even having no problem with sucking his cellmate's...well you know! Sorry for the spiced words but that's only to give you an idea about this movie, where the word fuck is at it's prime. Pretty intense shit going on right here, with a very expressive actor William H. Macy that did a great job all around.

David Mamet and Stuart Gordon's "White Guy Goes Nutzoid." William H. Macy is excellent in the part of a character who learns several seriously unpleasant lessons. Sexual frustration + white guilt = bad news.

Mamet's most enjoyable film, to me. Macy is extraordinary and Stuart Gordon expertly directs this. Love the dark comedy throughout. Nobody makes this kinda movie anymore, and it's a shame, because then movies like these subsequently stick out like a sore thumb, and people think they're 'bad' just because they're unusual. It's a very 70's film. Woulda been received a lot better in that era.
