Drifting Flowers (2008)

Three poetic tales of seeking the true identity. In the first story, Jing, a blind singer, falls in love with her band's tomboy accordionist Diego. In another time and place, Lily, an elderly lesbian and Yen, her gay friend, create an unexpected bond and support each other in a time of crisis. Finally, we see Diego before she joined the band, when as a teenager she came to grips with her gender identity.

Nicely constructed narrative that tells three separate but interlocking tales about lesbian women coming to terms with who they are, the loses they've suffered and sacrifices they make for happiness. Well worth a rental.

Love the stories. I think the most sadest part is the middle story when Lily mistaken her gay husband as her long dead girlfriend, Ocean.

a really brave and aggressive depiction of the life segments of a number of queer people offering multiple perspectives and some brief touching moments beautifully shot, the overall impact was however seriously hurt and undermined by the amateur acting and the lack of some major production qualities (25/11/2008)

3 interwoven love stories set in taiwan. though flawed, it was also poignant, touching and funny. enjoyed the performance by the actress who played the present-day Lily with Alzheimer's. and thoroughly enjoyed watching the very charismatic Diego played by Chao Yi-Lan in the last segment. watch out, you gals! Chao Yi-Lan is one cute T.
