Defendor (2009)

A crooked cop, a mob boss and the young girl they abuse are the denizens of a city's criminal underworld. It's a world that ordinary Arthur Poppington doesn't understand and doesn't belong in, but is committed to fighting when he changes into a vigilante super-hero of his own making, Defendor. With no power other than courage Defendor takes to the streets to protect the city's innocents.

A very small movie with a HUGE heart. The "Forrest Gump" of superhero movies. Yes, it has violence, sure, it has foul language, alright, it has drug use, and sex... but, it's one of the most gentle, and sweet tales I've seen in a while. Woody is the man.

Defendor is one of the best films I have seen in a LONG time, and the same can be said for Woody Harrelson's performance! 10/10 from me! :D

On one hand this movie can't decide if it's a comedy, drama or action film, but on the other hand, it does all three quite well. Most of the performances are good, casting excellent and this is a perfect, signature role for Woody Harrelson. In the end, even though you can guess what's going to happen, the movie still keeps your interest level high. The extras are engaging and the making of isn't just a circular back-slapping exercise. Although there's still plenty of that. All in all I'll buy a used copy when one becomes available. "Oh, no! Not the lime juice!" For sure.

One of Woody's greatest performances that much deserves to be seen by a wider audience.
