"I know you did but let's pretend you didn't!" - Darkman. Sam Raimi's next cult film after the evil dead, as he wanted to direct an adaptation of a dark superhero movie, but had not yet acclaimed the license, profile or budget for characters like The Shadow or Batman, hence he written his own dark hero "Darkman", which later get comic adaptations published by no other than Marvel comics. Which later brings him steps to become director of the spider-man movies (which to me wasn't as "amazing" as the comics.)
