Don't let the title fool you into thinking this is some sort of sleazy grindhouse picture intent on exploiting women and violence. In reality, I Spit On Your Grave is quite the opposite. While the first half is indeed a horrific spiral into complete misery and nastiness, the second half turns the tables and gives us an empowered heroine out for her revenge. This is not a fun or feel-good movie. It is, however, a good story with a very strong, interesting lead character, and it's probably the best film the rape-revenge genre has to offer.

not bad at all...an ultimate tale of revenge for sure :-)

I haven't seen this movie yet. BUT! The title alone will make shivers up your thorax!

One of the first slashers, this film follows a writer who is raped and left for dead who then goes after the men who attacked her. Cheaply shot, acted, scripted and scored, this is not great cinema. It is, however, a great horror film, and one that set the stage for countless imitators.

As a movie it is a little lacking, but it's one of the most disturbing movies I've seen.. so it gets a bump up on the rating
