The tonal shifts can be so abrupt as to induce whiplash, not to mention a kind of moral and narrative chaos, which seems to be very much to the movie’s point. The rich, tumultuous history of Black life over the past century could certainly find a worse cinematic analogue than this heady swirl of wry comedy, seductive music, ferocious argument and devastating carnage.

While the changing moods of BlacKkKlansman seemed bold and audacious, the warring elements of Da 5 Bloods appear bolted together rather than alchemically mixed.

Could have put some hairdye on those old men in the flashbacks. Looks like a bunch of old farts running around Vietnam.

It's another timely, thought-provoking message from a filmmaker known for them, in a movie that piles so much on its plate as to fall short of Lee's best.

Too long, with too many side-plots that take the movie just about nowhere. The actors aren't too blame, they're doing a great job. It's just Spike Lee, he doesn't know when to stop. No masterpiece like Do the Right Thing or BlacKkKlansman this time around. It's almost ok to watch, but not quite.
