Dans la famille film de dingue, je veux le pere. Aguirre est LE film sur la folie des grandeurs, la soif d'absolu, le reve d'un Eldorado, l'envie de puissance. Klaus Kinski ne joue pas, il incarne litteralement Aguirre, tandis que la camera virevoltante de Herzog nous emmene aux confins du delire, au milieu d'une nature magnifique d'hostilite.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God was loosely inspired by Conrad's Heart of Darkness and went on to inspire Coppola's classic Apocalypse Now. Sandwiched between two fantastic works of art, Aguirre transcends both, pulled along mercilessly by a incredibly intense and frightening performance from Klaus Kinski as the title character. A detailed study of both the human condition and the follies of colonialism.

Severely creepy. Dare I say haunting? Yeah. Yeah, Iâ??ll dare that statement. This movie is haunting. Herzogâ??s best. And Kinskiâ??s. And cinemas...Al right. Not the latter, but I LOVE this movie. I mean. You gotta love that last scene. The one with the monkeys.
