Pacino must cruise the gay s & m clubs of the 80's to find a killer. Good movie

A truly horrifying and creepy experience. Definitely not a film for everyone.

Dark and quite brutal. Pacino is excellently understated (for once). Incidentally, the film is from 1980, not 2007(!) yet remains refreshingly judgment-free in its exploration of a gay subculture.

This film has been accused of representing homophobic prejudice, but at least nowadays- almost 30 years after it was made- it works pretty well as an examination of its time and more spesifically the New York gay subculture of that era. Shot in an interesting way that complements the entertaining plot well.

I had high expectations going into watching this movie, and I'm glad to say that they were not only met, but surpassed. This is an intricate and surreal thriller, with so many layers that even repeat viewing will only scratch at the surface. Very controversial for it's time, and with good reason. Graphic and engrossing, with an amazing performance by Al Pacino. Highly recommended.
