George Hamilton had his feature film debut in this updated version of Dostoyevsky's novel. Hamilton plays a poor law student who gets caught up in a robber and murder. It's okay, but a rather stiff and self serious melodrama.

For someone without any knowledge about the original story, this movie is a drag. Might revisit it if I ever read the book.
