This long-overdue sequel to the 1980s hit romcom is no masterpiece, but it’s full of slick cameos, zany set-pieces and eye-popping style.

I liked it. This is a big throwback to the first movie, and an excuse for many artists to make a cameo. It doesn't try to be a better movie than the first one, it just tells a simple story that is easy to watch. I rather enjoyed all the old characters that showed up again. I'm not a fan of movies where Eddie plays a random wacky character. Here he's the main character without any shenanigans, it's the side characters that are wacky and they leave the screen long before they become annoying. Wesley Snipes is absolutely amazing.

If it’s missing the charm and Murphy’s magnetism from the first film, Coming 2 America delivers a broad, serviceable return to Zamunda.

Coming 2 America still provides enough smiles to make up for the lack of belly-laughs. And if you want to hear Murphy’s famous “heh-heh-heh” laugh, stay through the credits.

Ultimately Coming 2 America isn’t a sequel that ruins the original. But it doesn’t improve upon it, either.
