Cold Pursuit (2019)

The quiet family life of Nels Coxman, a snowplow driver, is upended after his son's murder. Nels begins a vengeful hunt for Viking, the drug lord he holds responsible for the killing, eliminating Viking's associates one by one. As Nels draws closer to Viking, his actions bring even more unexpected and violent consequences, as he proves that revenge is all in the execution.

Cold Pursuit is stark and refreshing, like taking an icy swim with the Polar Bear Club. A jolt. The movie makes you want him to stay around for a while longer.

Although you might expect this to be an extension of the Liam Neeson's TAKEN franchise, he's actually cast as a more demure character…at least in the beginning. He drives a snow plow in a frigid Colorado town, but when his son is killed, he sets out for revenge. Most of the action is unexceptional and the plot is full of holes. The only surprising thing is the sprinkling of dark humor that punctuates each death. Not really that amusing, but it does add a different tone to an otherwise mediocre action flick.

Hardcore Henry is simply a film you can NOT take serious, it's a stupid film that gives no **** and it knows it. The films story focuses on Henry, who wakes up from an accident and is now both human/robot and a mute, you meet your wife then next thing you know she's being kidnapped and you have to save her, that's it..... it's a nonstop 90 minute action thrill ride that doesn't even feel like 90 minutes because it goes by so fast. The film is heavily inspired by video games and Neveldine and Taylor, who are 2 directors whose films you cannot take seriously or you're going to hate them. Same thing with Hardcore Henry, go into the film with the expectations of little but simple story, nonstop action and violence and just have fun and enjoy it.
