Class of 1984 (1982)

Andy is a new teacher at an inner city high school that is unlike any he has seen before. There are metal detectors at the front door and the place is basically run by a tough kid named Peter Stegman. Soon, Andy and Stegman become enemies and Stegman will stop at nothing to protect his turf and drug dealing business.

This is another of the school themed movies with an updated story like that in the 50s movie, Blackboard Jungle. This one is very 80s, and it's very excting, and I really enjoyed it.

Brilliant, a hidden gem. It's a very gruesome towards the end but overall it's surprisingly ation packed.

Lester's solid exploitation quickie dumbs down A Clockwork Orange. Or maybe it presages Stand and Deliver, but with the charismatic teacher going on a rampage at the end instead of teaching CALculus. McDowall's cynical teacher is a highlight.

I really love this film, though it isn't exactly a great movie.God the Alice Cooper song at the start of the movie really sucks. Why Van Patten never became famous after this still amazes me (but he's a director now)
