Everything that is good about theater. This movie has an interesting story line that has fun character development and inter-action. Writing, directing, and acting are all spot on.

An excellent comedy. It contains an emotional depth uncharacteristic of the genre and oscar worthy performances. Margulies stood out to me in particular, who gave a performance that was deeper, more realistic, and much better than that of 2009 oscar winner Sandra Bullock. If you want to watch a real movie while hollywood is busy producing tired generic pap, you will enjoy City Island.

This is such a well made family comedy/drama. It stands apart from all the CGI and 3D crap out there. It's a well written movie. Most likely to be overlooked by people who would rather rent Clash of the Fucking Titans.
