Yet another film from Miller, starring Rickman, with an engaging protagonist and an interesting backdrop or pitch, but little sense of psychological depth.

Sadly "CBGB's" is loaded with the typical myths of the club. It's focus is more on the dog crap on the floor and Crystal's inability to pay bills than the real legacy of the legendary night spot. What made it more painful were the obvious lip syncing moment of every band performance. The least the Director could have done was find live performances for his cover bands to perform to, instead of the obvious album recordings.

An interesting look into CBGB. Quite a few really entertaining performances(Malin Akerman, Freddy Rodriguez, and especially Justin Bartha). But this film is quite juvenile at times for no apparent reason and sometimes the comedy just fails. But for die hard fans of any band in this film, watch it online or rent it.
