More like a cross between a typical high school comedy and Cabin Fever. Also, listing Rider Strong as the star (when he's in it for all of about 2 minutes) is as close to exploitation as you can get without child protective services becoming involved.

It has all the elements of a "nice guy gets the girl at the end" high school comedy drama. Then there's a flesh eating virus thrown into the mix. ever since I was 5 years old I have waited for a high school romance movie with these two elements combined. Plus its ultra filthy. Its 2012, and if you keep going into a horror movie expecting it to be the equivalent of "gone with the wind" and gore then you are retarded.There isn't anything "wrong" with this movie as far as I'm concerned, its acting is fine, when it tries to be funny it succeeds, and when it tries to gross you out it succeeds as well.

classic b horror movie. like the 'jabs' taken at small town america in the back woods. campy gory horror. good movie. dont drink the water! makes you think the next time you go for a swim in the river.

A for effort here. Cant complain about any part of the movie except the ending was horrible. I would like to see the original Ti West cut of it because this one was reworked by Lionsgate (as many people know). The ending just fizzles out after some great gore gags and a great nightmarish prom scene that is as horrifying as Carrie, but then it just lets you down. Its ok because i had a boner for this movie for the first 4/5's of it.

Another great film from Ti West, even if he doesn't think so. I enjoyed this one so much more than the original, loving both the campiness and the gore. West shows that when it comes to horror, he doesn't always have to do the slow burn, he's more than capable of making a fast paced, fun film. Likable heroes and villains abound in this gorefest that I hope West one day releases a director's cut for.
