A horror film, similar to They Live, where the villain is the rich upper class controlling all. Lotsa gory dreamlike orgies

A film about every teenagers' worst nightmare: Your family is hiding something from you. Society is an extreme body horror black comedy that tells the tale of Billy who doesn't fit in with the rest of the people in Beverly Hills and suspects that everyone are aliens. It satires the wealthy life style of the Beverly Hill neighborhood and the puberty experienced by most teenagers. It's one hell of a film that you will not forget and certainly a cult classic. Brian Yuzna took the idea of orgy to the maximum. Society is sexy, funny, dirty and disturbing and definitely not to be watched while eating.

Think Blue Velvet with added They Live and Braindead, you've pretty much got Society: a film famous for its demented Third Act but which delivers insanity from the very start. An underrated cult classic, this is a comment on high society that's about as subtle as an ACTUAL butthead...oh yeah. You can add a bit of John Waters too, Clarissa's mum looks like Divine's prettier sister.

Society is a movie that feels very, very dated. It gets very campy at times and eventually falls on sheer sensationalism to simplify the plot, which could have leaned towards a more subtle and surreal tone. However, I am a fan of the body horror genre, and this movie never left me bored in that department; Society proves to be an enthralling if a bit ridiculous movie perfect for the Halloween season.
