Gradually establishes a sense of foreboding that is hard to shake, though it's not without its darkly humorous moments.

This is a beautiful movie. Fairly sad and quite disturbing. Don't be turned off by the director's prior work if you don't like horror movies. This is one worth seeing.

The most spellbinding aspect of Bright Future is that the surrealism sustains its own squiddish logic, concluding with one of the most breathtaking film finales of the year.

This 'monster film', as its director called it, has just been given a release in the UK, finaly, and perhaps more people will get to see it. Unsettling and fasinating equally, its one of Kurosawa's highlights.
