Another Thumperfest disguised as a "True Story" When the Lame Stands Tall wasn't enough, I Can Only Imagine wasn't enough, Woodlawn wasn't enough, no, Movie goers have to repeatedly be assaulted by these overblown phony pablum puke films trying to shove Jesus and the bible down out throats. The WORST is when they try and hide it, and you go to what looks to be an interesting story film and find yourself bludgeoned with BS. This one is over the top with the hoaky baloney.

Cute, emotional story that pushes too hard the Christian agenda. The acting was ok, but it left me feeling like I was being indoctrinated.

Actress turned director (TV’s “House of Cards,” “The Americans”) Roxann Dawson balances the hospital room action with the impact finding the lost boy had on the faithless paramedic. There are beautiful moments that capture the quiet terror of death by drowning.

Although it is based on a true story, Breakthrough is another glib and unconvincing faith-based movie that pushes miracles, spirituality and divine intervention, hoping for box-office gold. A terrific cast is the only thing that saves it from last rites.
