Black 47somehow falls short of one's cinematic expectations in providing justice to a story that demands it.

A very bleak but well-made thriller with good acting, visuals and music. Somewhat derivative.

Excellent, thought provoking film and actually very well balanced. Anyone who says its anti-English hasn't actually seen it. Yes the English aristocracy are portrayed in a poor light, but the ordinary soldiers are not. Equally there is both good and bad in the Irish characters. Its beautifully shot with some very memorable images. Highly recommend
