A few tweaks in tone and it could have been profound. Instead it lingers in the realm of the intriguing.

A very subtle and smooth film. Basically a European version of Lost In Translation. [full review in Spanish]

Firmly rooted in everyday particulars — primarily the transactions (business, emotional, or otherwise) facilitated by the time- and space-obliterating devices to which we are constantly tethered — Ferran's movie dares to venture, for much of its second half, into fantasy.

The best moments in Bird People soar to such heights that you almost want to forgive the parts that amount to mere droppings.

People are like birds. That's kind of the idea. Maybe that might look and sound basic at first, but I'll admit that premise had its appeal. Unfortunately for this film, it overly romanticizes its premise and presents it in an approach that felt tremendously dull. Not gonna lie to you, I was bored after the first hour.
