The movie sucks... But the 10 last minutes worth the 80 minutes of pain and bored.

this movie is so boring, it had potential but turned into a children of the corn ripoff. the last 10 minutes was obviously the only time the producers actually put effort into it because the rest of the movie was crap.

You can really only critique Troma films to a certain extent; their nature, their essence of being is being a shitty, distasteful gorefest. However. Children at Play grows more interesting as it builds up, and acts as a total subversion of our moral standards.

basically, a kid whose dad was a literary professor, becomes a cannibal and forms a cannibalistic cult in the woods after grendel from the story 'beowulf'. it's got absolutely terrible acting...and a bunch of murderous children. there was a lot of controversy surrounding this film 'cause of the ending. it's an ending that'll likely offend a good chunk of folks. but anyway, it's a good flick to pull out and make fun of with friends...and that three-legged dog that appears in the film is awesome.

The acting was horrible aside from a couple adult actors. The acting and choreography from the kids was a waste. The only reason why I gave this movie a 4-rating and nothing lower was because of the ending. Without it, the film would really be nothing. A wasted ripoff of Children of the Corn. Don't bother with this film, but if you do want to check it out, fast foward to the end of the film.
