Nombre irónico para una devastadora historia. Gran nivel interpretativo de los protagonistas. Dura historia que traerá muchas preguntas.

In leu of so many of these kinds of tragic events this movie offers a very real world look at things in these days and times. Some wonderful writing and great acting make sure the mood is set and where it needs to be. The Camera work gave many scenes a feeling of a dream state or tranced serving as a great way to communicate the feeling of disbelief.

Do not let the title of this film fool you. It's not beautiful and not necessarily about the boy. How does a couple survive an apocalyptic event in their relationship? Director Ku follows the pair's reactions and attempts to cope with a sharp eye and records them painstakingly. Sometimes it seems the film is too far removed from the drama and emotion unfolding before the viewers' eyes. However, that neutral eye is necessary to drive the point home. Excellent and perceptive account of two people struggling to climb out of a seemingly insurmountable situation life threw at them. Beautifully shot in high-contrast aptly illustrating the harshness of the circumstances. Not a film for a snug evening in, but definitely worth a look.

Normally I don't trust many Indie films these days, I walk in thinking they're going to be a waste of time. However when I watched Beautiful Boy, everything else changed. I had never felt so touched by any story as I did with Beautiful Boy about the aftermath of a College Shooting where the killer commits suicide leaving with the family to deal with this whole media buzz. This film is clearly one of the greatest underdog films of the year. With a great plot and great character development with the tear dropping ending. This film gets a 5/5!
