This is a rating for the movie that was actually "The Killing Joke" and not the crappy prologue. If I was reviewing the film on a whole, I would give it 3/5 stars. After the god-awful prologue that was rushed as hell, the graphic novel is adapted perfectly with great voice acting from its cast, most notably Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. Just skip the prologue if you watch this, because

As an individual piece, Batman: The Killing Joke is superior to the book. You don't need to understand the Batman lore to feel the impact on all the characters in the movie.

As someone who never read the killing joke, but loved to death the Animated Series, I found this movie awesome. I enjoyed the first half, I adored the second. But I didn't have a single bad time in the entire thing.

Captivating, emotional, and sinister. This film finds new ways to connect with its audience. Implementing a backstory on Batgirl allowed for viewers to feel stronger emotions when Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) is shot. Fantastic novel, even better film!
