When a devious plot separates CIA agent Peter Sandza from his son, Robin, the distraught father manages to see through the ruse. Taken because of his psychic abilities, Robin is being held by Ben Childress, who is studying people with supernatural powers in hopes of developing their talents as weapons. Soon Peter pairs up with Gillian, a teen who has telekinesis, to find and rescue Robin.

Not enough story to support two hours of movie, making the experience painfully slow. DePalma is usually good at building tension, but the script and acting here seemed to stifle him (which is probably his fault as the director). The effects are decent for the time period. The main effect at the end is awesome, however you have to dredge through so much unneeded angst to get to it. A so-so effort from one of my favorite directors.

One of the better psychic thrillers of the '70s, directed by Brian DePalma. The tone is a bit uneven but still has some decent moments and an "explosive" conclusion.

nowhere near as good as de palma's masterpieces, dressed to kill and carrie. still a competently-told thriller with plenty of memorable moments, most of them involving amy irving, who is the heart of the movie, similar to carrie.

A highly under-rated De Palma film. What is interesting in De Palma movies is not the story told, but the WAY the story is told. If the story is good that is an added bonus. The is a good story told with amazing visual flair. Treat yourself to a visual feast.
