Dans la veine de ses films ou circule l'energie, B. De Palma livre la un solide metrage au scenario bien ampoule et a la tension grandissante. Quelques scenes chocs qui restent en memoire...

I knew nothing about this film other than it was directed by De Palma. That being said I thought it was one his most coolest films. Its so well done and just fun 2 watch. Its Tradgic doh. The ending makes up 4 that in awesomenesss.

A fair early De Palma movie. Cassavetes seems to have fun playing the embodiment of evil while Kirk Douglas is as good as ever. The movie doesn't seem entirely sure of what it wants to be though. Apart from the final scene, most of the violence is bloody and directed towards women, so it's fairly easy to see the point of some critics who have accused De Palma of misogyny. Nevertheless, this is still a lot better than some of his more recent efforts.

A battle of telekinetic powers combined with terrorism. Great theme music. Imy Irving is great in this film. There's a bloody showdown at the end. The rest is somewhat forgettable. I was too young to understand the exact plot of this film, and not interested enough to re-visit it when I was older.

Brian DePalma's The Fury is one of his most effortlessly entertaining films to date. Taking its cue from Carrie, made only two years before, The Fury starts off with a bang and never lets up. The cast is spectacular featuring Amy Irving, Kirk Douglas, Carrie Snodgress, Andrew Stevens, and a creepy John Cassavetes. Like much of DePalma's work, the Hitchcock similarities are unavoidable. There's a great deal of suspense and a shocking about of gory spectacle as well, considering Irving and Stevens' characters can cause people to bleed from every orifice of their body. There's lots of twists and turns and genuine shocks delt out to the audience and one never feels safe in DePalma's sometimes senseless world of violence. The finale is especially grotesque involving a character literally exploding into bloody bits on screen. The Fury is delightful, suspenseful fun from a master of the medium.
