Deep, character-driven, and too few people "get" what this film is about. It's NOT about the food, it's about the giving and receiving of hospitality and the joy of loving-service. Beautiful and deep.

I love this movie. It's spare, the scenery is georgeous, plus it will make you so hungry! And it's in Danish.

Beautiful movie. Two spinsters who gave up some wonderful opportunities in life to stay with their strict father take in a French refugee, Babette. When Babette wins the lottery, she decides to treat the village to a feast, which causes long-buried issues to rise and be resolved.
