After losing his parents in a car accident, Mukesh stays at his Aunt's house in Delhi. Enrolled in a good for nothing course in college he finds peace by playing chess at the local cemetery, the rest of the times he worries over ways to make a living and taking care of his sisters. 'B.A.Pass' is a story looking at the fatal promise of a new life. When Mukesh meets Sarika 'auntie' at a kitty party, little does he know of the city and it's ways and means to survive. Sarika seduces Mukesh, shy and inexperienced he falls for her.

Ajay Bahl's debut film starts off with brilliantly, and creates an intriguing atmosphere, but ends unsatisfactorily. It's a coming-of-age tale of innocence lost and conscience compromised. What starts off as playful seduction, Mrs. Robinson/ Hanna Schmitz style, spirals into a chain of prostitution, lies and betrayal. Even with an interesting story and well-shot scenes, the screenplay and the lead's (Shadab Kamal) acting failed to properly show the sense of urgency and desperation. Though the film's approach towards themes like poverty struggles, empty marriages, sexual urges and escort systems is commendable, it fails to explore them properly and deeply. Though the movie is well-made, and quite bold (for Hindi Cinema), when the whole ordeal is over, you're left with an odd aftertaste, not sure of what to think. Though Shadab Kamal looked cute and innocent enough for his role, his acting was little single-pitched. Shilpa Shukla was mesmerizing as the seductress and lady pimp. Good effort.

a hindu film about a young man who is seduce by a neighbor who marriage has lost its strenght but instead of teaching this man she turns him into a prostitute by making him believe that she will help him when his family situation. when everything goes south who can he truly believe will be there for him and who is just there for the fun. good storyline.

bold, realistic film from india. liked the neo-noir elements in it. rock solid performance from actress Shilpa Shukla.

Some movies are not about happy endings. Almost from the get go, you can see the inevitable crash coming, but you can't look away.... it's a dark, slow, torpid film, caught in a sticky humid syrup of closed doors and lost opportunities. Shilpa S is absolutely awesome, and almost as good as the Shadab. It's a film for a minute of introspection, at a time when there's plenty of time to spare - and a sense of, by the smallest few margins, could have been me.
