Gritty film depiction of the 4 day riot at Attica prison in 1971 that left 39 dead including 10 of 33 prison guard hostages. Just a bad decision to use force. No wonder Morgan Freeman looked so comfortable in prison in Shawshank. He plays a similar character behind bars here.
