This is an unapologetically over-the-top, blood-soaked, orgy of stylized violence filled with familiar action-movie characters going through familiar action-movie paces, with a whole lot of CGI, a bounty of epic set-pieces and a borderline exhausting number of kills.

Everyone has their own taste and entitled to their own opinion. I feel people are extremely critical these days, nothing is good enough anymore and it seems very hard to please people with entertainment any longer. With that said, if you watch after the movie and really see Snyders vision and behind the scenes of the production, I think you will understand what he wanted to do and that he accomplished his vision. That is what it is, his vision, understand that and maybe you wont get hung up on your own critiques of what it could have been, should have been, or how blurry the camera is when that was intended with a really cool unique lens from eBay he bought and wanted to create the whole movie with a view from this lens. Very creative movie, amazing zombies if not the best I have ever seen on screen. Truly scary and the sounds they made was very unsettling, every time. Great job. Did I love all of it, no, but was it well done in many ways, oh yes. Look at it through a different LENS, and maybe you will enjoy what I see as well.

It’s a blockbuster that funnels the appeal of big-budget action and horror with an almost sacred reverence for the material. That’s absurd, but Snyder’s a true believer in go-for-broke escapism and at its best, the mayhem in Army of the Dead is an infectious zombie bite of its own.

The movie starts well. Mid way through it introduces so-called smart zombies which never works well in movies. The vault guy has no special tools, but I can overlook that I suppose. Not sure why the Japanese guy who owned the building didn't give them the combination. Oh well. It's not a bad watch, but I found myself hoping for the end to come sooner. I'm always desperate to watch a zombie flick. The zombies weren't really characters in the movie.
