Kang's follow up to his cult-classic original takes a more ethical standpoint and the altering of the original formula results in a more serious piece that scrapes the surface of a more sinister underbelly in Korean society. As a film however it falls short, not the worst crime with many sequels made unable to outdo their predecessor. The typecast of the corporate bad guy is hard to bed down and the "promotion" of the main character Kang Chul Jung from hardline cop to prosecutor removes much of the essence that made the original what it was. This is a solid enough sequel but those fans of the original will definitiely miss the politically incorrect profanity filled script and not to mention the gratuitious violence. Kang's directorial style remains constant and the cameos from existing characters adds a nice jolt of flavour to this.

Where's the crackerjack tension and performances that characterized the first film? It's gone. In fact, it's like the first film never even happened.

Interesting and entertaining film about a tough prosecutor trying to expose an evil millionaire for the cold-blooded murderer he is. It's a shame there weren't more vehicle action sequences though...
