Sang-hoon is a lowlife gangster, a debt collector exercising thuggish ways to collect his money. The recipient of nothing but anger since his childhood, he expresses himself through violence. France, 1959. This film really is a MUST see. Period. BREATHLESS, Jean-Luc Godard's very first feature "remains the most realistic, most whole, and strongest narrative of [his] films," Gerald Mast. A brazen film, stylistically. Very free form and rich with charm, despite the despicable choices of its characters. Some really tender, surprising moments, caught and augmented with brilliant force. "The primary strength ... is the director's continuing ability to catch flashing, elusive moments of passion, joy or pain with the most surprising and unconventional narrative techniques," Mast.

Fantastic movie! Biggest expression of the French Nouvelle Vague! The jump-cuts, the amazingly entertaining dialogue, the realistic characters, the whole concept are just some of the things that makes this movie one of the most influential of the decade. I can even see that Arthur Penn was inspired by this to make his masterpiece Bonnie and Clyde. Jean Seberg is just gorgeous and very likeable. Jean-Paul Belmondo is also very good. A must-see.

Can't keep my eyes off the screen...I agree that maybe Breathless is alot more innovative and technically important than it is a great film, with the use of jump cuts and the breaking of the fourth wall but if you are a lover of film at its purest level than you will love Breathless.
