Maybe the best drama about humanity -- it's frailties and it's triumphs. Nothing is wrapped up...except your attention.

Another unforgettable film from director Lasse Hallstrom. Just by looking at the cast of this movie you can tell that it will be great. Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman together, now that is something. Both Freeman and Redford give amazing performances. Redford really does a great job at playing the father that can't let go of the memory of his dead son. You will not be dissapointed in the acting at all. Even Jennifer Lopez does a decent job in her role, now that is something you don't see everyday. The story is just beautiful and the way that the director tackles other issues along with the main issue will keep you more than interested in the movie. The only thing that i didn't like that much, but that doesn't take away from the movie, was the ending. It is the typical happy ending, but i guess you couldn't really end this story any other way. A must see!!!

This 2005 movie was a heartwarming well rounded family drama. Redford, Freeman and Lopez play their roles exceptionally well and in hindsight some of these were worthy of awards season buzz. It was a particularly welcome performance from Jennifer Lopez, who proved to the haters and critics that she is a very talented actress. You need to be a story lover to like this film, it doesn't present any of the action of a modern box office smash, but it is certainly an outstanding dramatic story.

Redford and Freeman give typical top notch performances in the film version of the novel of the same name. At first, my bias against Lopez wanted me to hate her in the movie, but she did a very good job working with the 2 great actors. Becca Gardner held her own in her scenes with Redford and you could sense as the movie went on that her comfort level increased. I liked that the story line between Lopez and Lucas never became more than hints here and there. I'm glad that the filmmakers didn't go Hollywood and turn a great movie into a typical one in regards to the exboyfriend's return in the end. They could have made it into a cheap unnecessary conflict but I'm glad they didn't.
