Garden State (2004)

I consider this to be my favorite movie ever. I love it, it's funny, it's touching, it's well done, it's great.

Though Iv'e never reached a conclusion to what my favorite movie is, This always is among the first few that come to mind when asked that thought provoking question. My opinion is biased because going through similar things in life I related to it strongly, and it helped me get through some crap. But anyway, it's a well acted great movie without a lot of interesting characters, and does everything in an extreme (It's happy moments are happy, Its sad moments are sad, Its apathetic moments are apathetic, its bitter moments are bitter, and its funny moments are hilarious.) Zach Braff show cases strong acting, directing, and writing skills in this movie, and the sound track is amazing, which are two other reasons why this movie is great.

A solid indie dramedy with a teriffic directorial debut and performance by lead Zach Braff and solid performances by Peter Sarsgaard, Natalie Portman, Jean Smart and Ian Holm, great music and a teriffic ending.

"BIG WORDS AND SENTENCES THAT DONT REALLY MAKE SENSE" Just a great film- well written, well directed with a soundtrack of fantastic songs, and a cast that brings everything together very neatly. The messages in the film as easily accessible, so yeh this film is just really good.

Starring Zach Braff (who is also the director and writer) is extremely successful with creating some interesting characters and acting as one. Andrew Largeman is a heavily medicated young man with a few problems. He eventually meets Samantha, a young girl who he comes to know and love. Natalie Portman manages to pull off a rather tough job of portraying a bubbly and comical person without being annoying, which was impressive. This movie falls into so many genres making it accessible to virtually everyone. Unique, stylish, and extravagant, Garden State prevails in every way possible. I couldn't recommend it more.
