An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge (2005)

It is the War Between the States and Peyton Farquhar stands at the end of a plank a noose around his neck. He has been betrayed by a stranger, a scout for the Union Army, and now he faces death. He stands to lose a beautiful young wife, family and home. The soldiers make preparations for his death, it is routine for them. Peyton's mind races, he must escape. If only he can free his hands. The plank falls and incomprehensibly the rope breaks. He manages to swim away and evade the gunshots from the soldiers. He unbelievably finds himself on shore running towards home. After what seems like days of weary travel he arrives.

Ambrose Bierce's narrative sleight-of-hand give the movie a tense feel and dramatic ending, but the soundtrack is incredibly annoying and the whole thing is very dated.

Does anybody know where I can get this soundtrack? The filmography was wonderful, and the speial effects were flabbergasting. I give it a 100! If anyone says this film is anything less than a masterpiece they are erroneous.

This was my favorite film for a long time--or at least, as much of it as was aired for the "Twilight Zone." The premise is simple and well executed, and the soundtrack is wonderful.

I don't really have anything positive to say about this movie, so I will just leave it at that.
