Amour is the most romantic film ever made. It is a tale of true love like it really should be, like we've been told to forget. The perfect antidote for centuries of crap Hollywood romantic comedies and saccarine soapy classics, Haneke once again delivers the life changing kind of spectacle you'd expect of him, and he has lightened up, a lot. While it can hardly be described as a feel-good flick, it has restored my faith in love, and cinema. Go see it when it's out!

Una verdadera obra maestra del director Michael Haneke, nos demuestra que con una simple trama puede hacer una experiencia intensa, creadora de lagrimas y nudos en la garganta, una experiencia reflexiva y poderosa, con actuaciones hiperrealistas; y un final misterioso y subjetivo como todos los filmes de Haneke, subjetivo pero complaciente. Una verdadera historia de amor, amor del más puro calibre. Humana, con uso perfecto de ethos. Imperdible.

A masterpiece. Do I want it to win Best Picture? No I don't. It's not the sort of film that I want representing the Oscars. And yet, this film will last in my mind and the minds of most viewers for a lifetime. It is uncompromising in it's reality. The long, painful takes and lack of music make you feel like you're actually watching a couple struggle through the last moments of their lives. Is it fun? Absolutely not, yet it is beautiful and powerful. The symbolism of the paintings, the pigeon, and even the lighting, is inherently tragic and beautiful. The acting is about as flawless as any film I've ever seen, in fact I rarely had a place where I didn't completely and utterly accept that what I was watching was indeed reality. I do not approve of the ultimate decision the film makes, but I completely understand it, just as much as I understand the characters and their pain. Looking back, I feel like I deserve a shirt that says "I survived Amour... but I will never forget it."

Amour is a kind of film that is very hard to watch because it's too touching and heartbreaking at the same time. It took a while for me to watch the movie and the hesitance is caused by the simplicity of the title but after watching it I realized that there is nothing more suitable to best described what the film is all about than 'Amour' or 'Love'. It may be surprising to see it competing for Best Film for this year's Oscars but it's truly deserving.

Não há muito o que dizer sobre "Amour", filme escrito e dirigido por Michael Haneke. Não há como fazer hipérboles sobre este filme. Este é sem dúvidas o melhor filme que vi neste ano, o mais bem dirigido e talvez ( se Django Livre não fosse tão bom) o mais bem escrito. A direção de Haneke é indescritível... O modo como ele conduz esta estória sobre este casal de idosos que tem que lhe dar com os problemas da velhice é lindo. As suas escolhas de ângulos, a forma como ele consegue envolver as pessoas com apenas o roteiro ao permanecer no mesmo ângulo por minutos é poético. A interpretaçâo de Emmanuelle Riva (a senhora que sofre de meia paralisia) deve ser premiada com louvor, pois esta sim é uma das melhores interpretações femininas do ano! Simplesmente um filmaço, nâo tem como não se emocionar!
