This is the best samurai by Kurosawa in a movie made by his student. It´s a masterpiece but not to difficult to an ocidental understand like many others from Kurosawa.

Sympathetic characters and lush photography (one or two odd effects) but nice tale told with appropriate pace and care.

Simple story, but with the deep message. The ode of a good man. Very beautiful film based on Kurosawa`s screenplay.

Simple and enjoyable little story, slow pace and calming affect. Tad too naive in the whole, and the point drawn out even a bit too clearly, but nevertheless a great movie.
