Alien Trespass (2009)

In 1957 a fiery object crashes into a mountaintop in the California desert, bringing the threat of disaster to Earth. Out of the flying saucer escapes a murderous creature, the Ghota, bent on destroying all life forms on the planet. A benevolent alien from the spaceship, Urp, inhabits the body of Ted Lewis, an astronomer and with the help of Tammy, a diner waitress, sets out to save mankind.

First off, I should say that I disagree with the consensus. It's not an "earnest attempt at parody" because it's not trying to be a parody at all. It's a sincere attempt at actually trying to [i]be[/i] a movie from 1957, not a parody of one. The acting style was different in the 1950s, and the actors in the film were trying to emulate that style, not poke fun at it. The special affects may look cheesy to some because they're supposed to look like they could have been done in the 50s. In that sense I think the film was extremely successful. I enjoyed myself immensely.

Not the best movie but has it's fun elements. The movie is a set up of the old classic Sci Fi films of the 50's but also has that current day look. Hey a one eyed monster is always good entertainment....

...gently wacky. Although breezy and sketchy on the easy laughs at times, Alien Trespass does promise to entertain for the sole purpose of its campy off-kilter makeup.

Entertaining movie about a an alien spaceraft that crashes in a typical American town and unleashes a "monster" named ghota into the community. "Alien Trespass" pays tribute to those wacky 1950's sci fi movies and succeeds in doing so. P.S: I bet that poster would look great in my room!

a bit of a throw back to the1950s sci fi stuff. cool in that way but it reminds you how much things have evolved over time. the acting or action are nothing to be mentioned but a little bit of 50s camp is rare and kinda fun
